Before we had a second lockdown in England, we were lucky enough to travel to Istanbul, which is one of our most favourite cities and at just under 4 hours away, it’s perfect for a long weekend away.

After a lot of research into hotels that are taking all the necessary precautions, we finally decided on two hotels. The Four Seasons and Ciragan Palace Kempinski.

Both hotels are highly rated and located in the glamorous neighbourhood of Beşiktaş, minutes away from each other which was just a coincidental bonus.

The Four Seasons absolutely lives up to the name it has built, a prestigious hotel well worth the price tag. The service was impeccable, the rooms beautiful and the facilities were perfect. There was not a single flaw during our whole stay there and everything we wanted was delivered above our expectations.

The staff at The Four Seasons worked hard to make everything feel ‘normal’ whilst taking all the necessary precautions. Face masks are mandatory and the staff are checking that you are complying, you do not have to wear a mask when sitting at your table for your meal and when you are seated by the pool.

It’s clear the hotel is ensuring everybody’s safety is paramount and some of the main precautions are listed below-

• Staff are consistently sanitising all main touch points
• A hygiene kit is waiting in the room with face masks, anti bacterial wipes and hand sanitiser
• Evening turndown service is only available via request
• The buffet breakfast is mostly served at your table, however you are still able to go up socially distanced, with plastic screens between you and the food and it is served to you.

A main point to mention is none of the precautions take away from the magical service they provide.

Now a little bit more about the hotel, the view from the outdoor restaurants is beautiful, there is not a more serene feeling than listening to the waves of the Bosporus and seeing the city’s landmarks whilst sitting at breakfast with a hot Turkish tea.

We were kindly upgraded to the palace courtyard rooms, which had a partial view of the Bosporus and the city- The best of both worlds!

The room we stayed in was the epitome of luxury, much larger than a standard room, high ceiling with a gorgeous chandelier, I adored the ceiling to floor windows which let in beautiful light and provided an amazing view. The bathroom came with a beautiful bathtub to relax in after walking around the city all day.

The hotel has an outdoor pool with views of the Bosporus, service is great by the pool and there is always someone around to order drinks and food, throughout the day you are served complimentary bite size snacks and drinks, such as frozen grapes, watermelon with feta and ice tea which is a lovely perk.

The spa is extremely beautiful and we were really impressed by not only how serene it was, but also how clean everything was kept, we felt perfectly safe in these trying times to use the facilities.

Overall our stay was perfect, so good in fact I went back less than a week later for another few days as I just could not get enough!

Thank you for your hospitality to the whole team at the Four Seasons Bosphorus.
